We’re proud to celebrate Renn Iaboni, Managing Director and Head of Origination, on his recognition as a 2025 M&A Advisor Emerging Leader.
What sets Renn apart isn’t just his track record; it’s his approach. With a mechanical engineering background from RPI and nearly a decade in investment banking at Macquarie Capital’s Aerospace & Defense group, Renn brings a unique analytical lens to relationship building. His guiding principle, “there’s no such thing as a bad first meeting,” has become central to how Monomoy engages with the market.
Since joining Monomoy in 2021, Renn has fundamentally reimagined our origination strategy. Moving beyond traditional reactive sourcing, he’s built a sophisticated, proactive system that leverages data analytics and deep industry relationships. Leading a team of four origination professionals, Renn has strengthened Monomoy’s pipeline across our core manufacturing, distribution and services sectors while establishing the firm as a trusted partner to business owners nationwide.
Renn’s impact extends well beyond deal flow. As an active member of the Association for Corporate Growth’s PE/IB committee and a recognized “Business Development Professional to Watch,” he’s helping shape industry best practices. His commitment to mentorship, both within Monomoy and through his previous board service with Fresh Youth Initiatives, reflects his dedication to developing the next generation of finance professionals.
The M&A Advisor’s annual Emerging Leaders program identifies professionals under 40 who are driving innovation in M&A, corporate finance, and restructuring while demonstrating exceptional commitment to community service.
